Commercial Officer – Procurement/Supply Chain – Johannesburg – GM366

The purpose of the role is to provide procurement services to the Africa Regional Office and Mine Sites as well as administrative and office support for the Purchasing & Supply Chain team.

Responsibilities
• Provide high level quality service delivery in terms of contract writing services
• Ensure that all enquiries and requests are handled promptly and efficiently to enhance customer satisfaction
• Complete tasks in accordance with established procedures, by identifying and understanding all commercial and legal risks within the immediate work area
• Provide enquiry, adjudication and contract writing services from Johannesburg to the Continental Africa Regional Office and Mine sites
• Provide specialist advice and input into the negotiation of service levels and pricing to ensure the achievement of performance targets
• Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly contract reports and statistics for effective decision making
• Build and maintain relationships in collaboration with colleagues and external contractors for the purpose of co-ordinating inputs in line with CAR procurement procedures
• Record management of all service level agreements, contract registers, requisitions, rates and suppliers
• Ensure commercial risks are limited by the compilation of legally sound contracts

Requirements
• A recognised tertiary qualification in Commerce, Legal or Technical, with particular focus on Procurement, Purchasing and Supply Chain.
• Working experience in procurement, purchasing and supply chain preferably within the African mining environment.
