Geotechnical Engineer – Mining – Johannesburg – GM384

My client requires an experienced geotechnical engineer to minimise and control their geotechnical risk associated with their mining activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accountable for a safe working mining environment in keeping with sound geotechnical engineering practices
• Formulate and maintain a geotechnical domain models for mining clients and operations
• Conduct slope stability analyses and pit design recommendations
• Recommend safe planning and working procedures to minimise risk of collapse and threat to mining personnel and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS
• +7 years experience in mining related geotechnical engineering field
• Previous consulting experience an advantage
• Self starter able to fit in to multi-disciplinary technical team work space with broad or specialist geotechnical engineering capability
• Proven track record of contribution to or CPR sign off on Geotechnical studies an advantage
• Degree status or equivalent recognised tertiary qualification will be required
• ECSA registered.
