Site Manager – Open Cast Blasting – GM382

I am seeking a site manager with Open Pit Production experience to ensure quality blasting designs and the implementation thereof, correct product selection and adequate maintenance of the site fleet of charging units and vehicles to deliver performance and efficiency in blasting

Responsibilities
• To ensure company SHE Standards, Systems and Procedures are implemented and complied within applicable areas of control
• To ensure that customer needs are satisfied by the deployment of safe, cost effective and satisfactory operations, and ensure that the appropriate standards, systems and procedures are implemented.
• To manage the continuous monitoring of equipment performance and running costs, and obtain feedback for continuous improvement, ensuring the profitability of the contract.
• Ensure proper management of Maintenance contracts where applicable.
• Keep up to date with product developments and provide assistance for new improvements.
• Control fixed and operating costs within an agreed budget.
• Responsible for training and development of subordinates and customer trainees ensuring that the customers
• The incumbent is expected to manage and co-ordinate a Performance contract (ROF) on a prescribed customer site, including the establishing of prescribed manpower structures and equipment to maintain required production levels.
• Interface with mine management and Regional Managers within the specified regions. Other interface issues involve dealing with and resolving customer problems within own area of accountability.
• Responsible for motivating, developing and training subordinates within the performance contract structure.
• Responsible for management of engineering and logistics
• Oversees the administrative duties including compiling daily productivity reports

Requirements
• Relevant Tertiary qualification (or at least 10 years open pit blasting and production experience)
• A minimum of five (5) years production mining experience, preferably openpit operations.
• Be in possession of a relevant Explosives Engineering certificate and able to understand and apply financial acumen.
• Have broad understanding of company standards relating to Quality, Safety, Health and Environment and World class.
• Have good understanding of product technologies including Emulsion and the operation of a mobile charging unit.
• Have good understanding of the relevant Explosives Act and mine safety and Health Regulations.
