Jnr Environmental Scientist – Contaminated Land – Cape Town

My client, a leading engineering consultancy, with operations across South Africa, is currently seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join their team in Cape Town.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Working with the Contamination and Remediation Team on various projects relating to petroleum based remediation projects
• Manage multiple environmental projects with a project management approach, consistency across projects, ensuring quality of output.
• Utilizing project management tools to keep abreast of the scope, budget and timeframe of each project and to make sure project details are updated on a daily basis
• Design and carry out field investigations, organise data interpretation, evaluate and design remedial actions and report preparation

The successful candidate will have:
• At least 1 years experience within a Contamination Field with proven project experience in soil and groundwater sampling
• A relevant Diploma or BTech qualification, BSc Degree preferred
• Previous experience in supervision of sub-contractors and consultants essential
• Knowledge / Experience in Natural Sciences & Knowledge of regulatory processes (environmental)
• Strong report writing skills
• A strong personality, and an ability to provide leadership to staff on site
