HR Information System Specialist – Educos – Johannesburg

My client in the mining sector is seeking an HR Information System Specialist to provide technical support to the Remuneration Team and Super Users their Educos and other in-house HR information systems (HRIS) ensuring the effective and efficient operation of all aspects of the HRIS.
This position is a 6 month fixed term contract

Responsibilities
• Compile customized reports (including graphs) using MS Excel, validate employee and remuneration data
• Liaise with Educos and other HRIS service providers to ensure optimal functioning of Educos / in-house systems
• Review the Educos and in-house HRIS implemented to ensure alignment with the needs of the business units. Recommend changes and drive implementation of improvement processes
• Provide guidance to the HR teams with regard to Educos system requests
• Ensure smooth integration of Educos / in-house system enhancements with existing HRIS
• Monitor and evaluate Educos and other HRIS service providers’ SLA’s. Conduct progress reviews on user logged calls vs. services provided with specific focus on Educos
• Assisting Users on how to run reports, including data imports / exports, and upload monthly employee-data reports into the global data warehouse.
• Identify opportunities for, and ensure completion of process automation
• Consult with Super Users to analyse existing system processes, and recommend improvements
• Review and ensure completion of User Acceptance Testing tasks
• Provide Super User training, support and successful resolution of general queries

Requirements
• Educos and other HRIS knowledge (supported by Educos competency certificate)
• Computer literacy in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
• Strong HRIS experience and technical ability (min 2 years experience)
• Payroll hands-on experience
• Have reliable transport
• Have a valid passport and be willing to travel to business units within continental Africa as required

Mineral Rights Analyst – GM372

The Mineral Rights Analyst will be responsible for keeping the Mineral Rights in good standing, as well as maintaining the Mineral Rights database organized and updated in order to provide technical support in all Mineral Rights issues and contribute to the consolidation of property at mineral projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Present legal documents to authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Follow up of legal processes until result is obtained.
• To maintain processes filed, organized and updated.
• Create new digital databases.
• Create applications, forms, graphs, using computer systems, fulfilling requests presented to the mineral rights area from other areas in the organisation.
• Investigate and keep updated in all applicable norms, decrees, procedures and new laws under evaluation process or in force.
• Update and follow up filings in the mining producers register.

• To support technically the development of all activities taking place in the mineral rights area.

Snr Environmental Scientist – EIA and Contamination – Cape Town

My client, a leading engineering consultancy, with operations across South Africa, is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join their EIA and Contamination team in Cape Town. This is a great opportunity for an experienced consultant to take on more responsibility and act as 2nd in command.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide consultancy service to clients relating to EIA’s within a wide range of sectors
• Manage Contaminated Land and Remediation projects
• Manage multiple environmental projects with a project management approach, consistency across projects, ensuring quality of output.
• Utilizing project management tools to keep abreast of the scope, budget and timeframe of each project and to make sure project details are updated on a daily basis
• Design and carry out field investigations, organise data interpretation, evaluate and design remedial actions and report preparation

The successful candidate will have:
• At least 5 years Environmental Project Management experience within a Consultancy
• Proven project experience in soil and groundwater sampling – petroleum based contaminants
• A relevant BSc Degree preferred, advanced degrees preferred
• Previous experience in supervision of sub-contractors and consultants essential
• Knowledge / Experience in Natural Sciences & Knowledge of regulatory processes (environmental)
• Strong report writing skills

Sustainability Consultant – Chemical Engineering – GM357a

Working with a leading global consultancy you will be responsible for providing technical support to the existing Sustainability team and wider Environmental Services team. Project work will include advising industrial clients of water management strategies (water footprinting), undertaking resource efficiency audits of industrial facilities and identifying opportunities for reducing the ecological footprint of the production process, as well as undertaking technical feasibility studies for sustainable energy and water recycling opportunities.

The project workload will be varied and, depending on workload, the individual may be expected to assist with project work in other parts of the business i.e. air quality management, environmental risk assessment etc

Requirements
• Minimum of a Chemical Engineering Honours Degree
• Experience in Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (primarily industrial)
• Experience in identifying efficiencies and recycling opportunities for Energy/Carbon, Water, and Waste Generation
• Experience in Sustainable Energy and Water Recycling Feasibility Studies
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Proven track record in project, team and client management are a prerequisite

Chief Mine Surveyor

My client requires a Chief Mine Surveyor to manage the mine surveying function in their open pit kimberlite mines

RESPONSIBILITIES
• To manage the mine surveying activities of the survey section
• To manage the survey and mineral resources volumetric databases
• Accountable for the integrity of all mine and pit stability surveying techniques and practices, for the accurate measurement and storage of survey data, and for the integrity, depletion and reconciliation of mineral resources volumetric data.

REQUIREMENTS
• Tertiary qualification – recognised mine surveying qualification, preferably with Chamber of Mines or government mine surveying ticket
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience of mine surveying techniques
• Experience of managing or supervising the staff of a mine survey department
• Extensive knowledge of mine surveying techniques and practices
• Ability to manage survey staff and their operations
• Knowledge of survey data storage
• Knowledge of volumetric depletion from 3-d models and reconciliation of volumetric mineral resources
• Advanced PC skills and computer literacy.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills; ability to deliver results to schedule and budget; pro-active commitment to a safe mine and working environment; a strong willingness to expand own personal technical knowledge for the continuous improvement of the operation.
