SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER – Coal (Mpumalanga Ref: NM32)

An international coal producing company with South African operations is urgently seeking an SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER to interpret the 5 year plan into a comprehensive 2 year budget for their South African operation

RESPONSIBILTIES:

·         Facilitate the 2 year budgeting process across all operations functions

·         Operational 2 year budget compilation

·         Supervise the sequencing of activities (and detailed design) to be performed by the operations function, to facilitate the implementation of the 2 Year Budget in the 3-12 month window.

·         Production accounting and the supply of management information

·         Generate an action plan for budget period with individual KPI’s and accountabilities

·         Supervise the detailed engineering designs required to implement the short term schedule to reach budgeted results

·         Logistical issues and sequencing of activities facilitation

·         Plans of action agreement (with the relevant operations personnel) facilitation 

·         Identify and implement short term opportunities and risk

·         Achieved operational performance reporting and compliance to detailed plan

·         Projecting operational performance quarterly on rolling window of 24 months

·         Conducting operations survey activities

·         Accountable for the operations geological activities

·         Ensure governance and systems are in place with regards to production accounting        

REQUIREMENTS:

·         Relevant Mining Tertiary qualification

·         Post graduate qualification in business related studies is an advantage

·         Mine Managers Certificate of Competency is advantageous

·         Thorough knowledge in Planning Software and CAP is essential

·         Established commercial, negotiation and strategic skills

·         Ability to identify areas of growth on key operational factors and constraints at an early stage

·         Management of contractors and related budget

·         Ability to conduct sound economic evaluation and analysis

·         7 years relevant experience as a Business Strategist on mining operations

·         Experience in coal mining production, infrastructure designing, logistics, water and land management is a necessity
