Junior Logistics Manager - Mining – GM349

Our client is within the mining industry and requires an individual who will oversee the road, rail and shipping of products to destinations across Southern Africa, ensuring an optimal flow of goods and materials within agreed time frames and service levels

Responsibilities
• Manage distribution, warehouse and transport systems
• Manage, develop and monitor performance goals and internal and external service levels
• Monitor the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods both locally and internationally
• Co-ordinate and control the order processing cycle and associated information systems
• Assist with the allocation and management of staff resources according to changing needs
• Manage the material requirements planning and production planning and scheduling processes in conjunction with the Plant Manager
• Manage the import/export processes and ensure that appropriate procedures, documents and processes are followed at all times and in line with current legislative requirements

Requirements:
• Tertiary qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain Management
• At least 5 years relevant experience gained in a mining environment
• Sound knowledge of transport legislation
• Excel / Accounting packages /commodity software database management experience
• Good aptitude for numbers, and excellent attention to detail
