Structural Geologist - South Africa

Overview:
Our client is seeking a Structural Geologist experienced in leading advancement in the area of structural interpretation. The successful incumbent will be reporting to Manager.
The candidate will provide technical leadership to other technical support personnel and vendors to provide structural analysis solutions which meet company’s goals. The incumbent needs to have strong communication skills and the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.


Responsibilities:
•Regarding strategic technology related issues the incumbent should collaborate with Senior Management.
•Participates in underground gold exploration and production peer review groups and as well as acting as a mentor to the junior/less experienced staff.
•Responsible for the provision of technical oversight to the operating groups that are involved in conducting structural interpretation.
•Coordinates and conducts training on structural interpretation within the exploration company.
•Primary role in the supervision of consultants involved with specialty structural interpretation projects
•Complex structural interpretation and modelling.
•Promotes company’s technical profile within industry by participating in industry workshops and conferences. Participation includes publishing work and technical developments and encouraging the company’s other Geoscientists in the publishing of work within industry and academic journals.

REQUIREMENTS:
•3-7 years’ work experience in the industry or academic faculty experience including subsurface/underground and field structural interpretation and modelling
•Bachelor’s in Geological Sciences with 3-7 years’ experience in the industry
•Computer software proficiencies are also required including structural restoration software.
