General Manager - Coal Mining Merger and Acquisition - South Africa

I am seeking a General Manager for my client’s coal operations in South Africa, the role will involve scouting and developing coal mines with good quality Thermal Coal in South Africa and other Southern African countries. You will assist with implementing the company’s strategic vision for Coal Mining Assets in Southern Africa to fuel their global requirements

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for business development of company in Acquisition and Merger of Coal or other minerals in South Africa and African Countries.
• Conceptualize business plan duly approve from Board/MD and execute in terms of results and timeframe.
• Communicate and liaison with government authorities in relation to the business objectives to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities.
• Anticipate research and report on future changes in laws and in relevant with business plan and ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of the department’s own strategy, resources and procedures.
• Attend business meeting and high level government committee in connection to our business.
• Plan and implement strategy and activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of company.
• Strategy for acquiring new mines, planning and management, development of export potential prospects and execution of the same.

Requirements
• Must have high level knowledge of mineral-coal/iron ore geographically, geologically in South Africa and African Countries
• Must hold executive level experience in a mining environment
• Relevant advanced degree – Business/Geology/Mining
• Experience in getting all statutory clearances of Coal Mine.
• Experience in the selection of Coal Mines, assessment of the geological reserves (GR) of Coal Mines and development of Mining Plans.
• Experience in preparation / assessment of GR Report, and make a choice about its acquisition.
