The technician is responsible for the execution of all laboratory work and field work associated with the deployment and collection and analysis of Air Samples.
Responsibilities
• Inspection of buckets when they are returned from the field
• Preparation of Petri-slides and filter papers (mass before and after checks)
• Ensuring that a clean work environment is available
• Assist in the maintenance of the quality system
• Verification and cleaning of the mass balance
• Reporting of all non-conformances found
• Working as part of a team to ensure that results are delivered on time
• Ensure results for proficiency testing scheme are recorded correctly and sent timeously
• Inform team leader (however named) of requisition orders that may be required
• Recording and communication of any issues related to the sampler that might pertain to the validity of the results achieved from the sampler.
• Assistance with general administrative duties
Requirements
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role
• Basic arithmetic, suitable for recording laboratory details and mass determinations
• Code 08 driver’s licence and one year’s driving experience
• Ability to deliver high quality outputs timeously
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Quality and Safety Coordinator – Environmental – GM300
The Quality and Safety Co-ordinator is accountable to implement the Quality Assurance Program and is responsible for its effectiveness and efficiency. In addition the Quality and Safety Co-ordinator is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Safety and Health System at the facility whilst ensuring ISO/IEC 17025 standards are not jeopardised.
Responsibilities

• Maintain an up to date scope of testing and co-ordination of the documentation and standard operating procedures required to comply with ISO accreditation
• Maintain the definitions and statistics in an up to date fashion in respect to predictions and conclusions regarding data
• Evaluate data in quality role but shall not report opinions and interpretations
• Maintain equipment inventory, tracking of logbooks, SRM’s, sample forms, appropriate authorised documentation controlled and or removed and archived when obsolete
• Facilitate and monitor method validation process in Environmental Division
• Facilitate Round Robins, inter-laboratory studies, and proficiency testing
• Plans and executes blind samples within the laboratory to evaluate test method performance
• Coordinate and administer the improvement systems
• Build relationships with suppliers and clientele
• Assist with the evaluation and root cause analysis of proficiency tests, customer complaints, and improvement requests
• Provide planned quality related training and awareness as required
• Assist in all management reviews
• Ensure integrity of monthly inputs into the QHSE Report
• Provide constant feedback to QHSE and relevant business line managers on status of quality, safety, health and environment
• Attends and occasionally leads mandatory monthly Health, Safety and Quality Meetings.

• 5 Years work experience in an Environmental testing environment
• 5 Years management system experience (ISO 9000, 17025 or other)
