The position is responsible for the operational activity of the Fire Assay and Sample preparation laboratories ensuring optimised utilisation of the laboratory and capacity to ensure quality according to client’s requirements and compliance with my client’s integrity programs
Responsibilities
• Manage laboratory resources (people, IT, software & hardware and training) in a efficient and sustainable manner
• Continuously optimize laboratory processes and ensure required quality standards
• Ensure health & safety procedures are adopted and communicated to all laboratory employees
• Manage customer complaints and claims
• Modify services on demand and develop new lab products and services.
• Minimize costs without compromising service delivery and quality
• Lead, coach and develop the operating team in the laboratory
Requirements
• BSc. Chemistry or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry
• 5 years post graduate experience in analytical chemistry and management of a laboratory
• Mastery in technical knowledge of analytical processes
• Able to work with technical and management staff
• Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal
• Energy to motivate a team to always deliver results
• Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
• Has extensive knowledge of international standards and specifications used by the industry
