A client is urgently seeking an Industrial Relations Specialist for their open cast mine. This candidate will be required to provide technical and industrial engineering support to the management team towards reducing operating costs.
DUTIES:
· Execute advanced aptitude in dealing with trade union matters
· Advising line management on aspects related to employment relations
· Coordinate and monitor workplace grievance and disciplinary processes
· Ensure that all line management and employees are fully conversant with company employment relations, policies, and procedures
· Successfully representing the company in labour dispute tribunals
KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS
· Preparing Union/Management meetings and agreements
· Managing Trade Unions
· Compiling and communication monthly reports
· Participating in committees that impact on employee relations, e.g. skills development, employment equity, etc
· Representing the Company at the CCMA, internal disciplinary hearings and litigation of dispute resolution processes
· Implementation and maintenance of effective policies and procedures
· Dealing with and solving disciplinary cases and grievances
REQUIREMENTS:
· B degree in Labour Relations, HR or equivalent
· At least 5 or more years’ proven experience as an Industrial Relations Practitioner
