CA Mining has a mining services client that is urgently seeking a Regional Manager for their Rustenburg based clientele

The purpose of this job is to ensure that the company’s mining services provides an excellent World Class service and products to its customers at the sites as described below and remains the preferred supplier in the area of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

       Accountable for the long-term growth and profitability by leading company’s strategic thrust into the region to secure new business developments, manage competitor activity and establish a dominant position within this strategically vital region.
       Accountable for current business which includes bulk, packaged explosives as well as accessories by defining and meeting the needs of the customer base with respect to quality, reliability, technical support etc. while delivering on shareholder requirements in terms of financial measures.
       Must actively promote and manage the Company’s vision and values by demonstrating a hands-on approach in the planning, leading, organising and control of this aspect.
       Assists the Business Manager in the management of existing supply contracts, the compiling of tenders for new business and has input into the preparation for annual price negotiations for customers within the region.
       Accountable for the preparation and delivery of the defined regions sales, profit, operating and fixed costs budgets and meeting set targets as stipulated.
       The incumbent is also accountable for caring and growing his/her people by administering the Company’s industrial relations procedures, applying fair discipline and planning their careers according to the set underground business training gap analyses for each level.
       Manage and take responsibility for all operations, administration and resources in such a way as to comply with the Company’s World Class standards.

Requirements:

       VERY strong financial acumen. Must be able to interpret business financial results
       A technical qualification (NHD or Degree) preferably in Mining Engineering combined with a minimum of 7-10 years underground management experience
       A business qualification (diploma or degree) will therefore be an advantage Strong presentation skills – Sales flair
       Must have a VERY strong strategic flair for business – acquiring new business as well as analysing the market and putting the business in the best strategic position 
       The ability to interact with customers at all operational and management levels is key
       The incumbent will have good project management skills 
       Project management is one of the strategic drives in the business and enjoys a lot of attention
