CA Mining has a multinational client that is seeking a Health Services Manager to ensure that Hospital, Primary Health Care and Health management systems, processes, policies, procedures, standards and resources are in place and aligned to meet the short and long term health services demands of the company in order to provide appropriate proactive health care to employees and communities. Also comply with the relevant legislation and best practise principles and to ensure the quality and quantity of work as a priority.
Responsibilities:

·         To define in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders of the Primary, Secondary, tertiary and Occupational Health Care objectives to enable consistent improvement in employee and patient health.
·         To implement Health Services, proactive health care, policies and procedures and best practices in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders, i.e. COO, GM’s, Group HRL, HRL and Organised Labour etc.
·         The position requires compliance with legislation and defined Group Health policies, systems, practices, standards, and procedures. The status quo of current practices is continuously challenged to promote the standard and quality of Health Services that will add optimal value to the day-to-day operations of the mines.

·         Standards of Health Care are compiled, revised, updated and implemented in conjunction with the Group Health Services Manager and the Executive Services.

·         The incumbent is accountable for determining in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders appropriate health solutions. This requires the continuous investigation and evaluation of health initiatives, standards and procedures to ensure improvements in overall employee health within the company and patients.
 
The incumbent is expected to be an acknowledged expert in the health/medical field.

·         Constructs and manages the total Primary, Secondary, tertiary and Occupational Health Care budget within given guidelines.

·         Proactively develop appropriate action plans and implements such effectively to ensure continuous objective achievement as well as early detection of deviations from planned arrangements. Investigates, decides and takes appropriate corrective actions to effect compliance.

·         Critical to this position is to ensure alignment between Primary, secondary, tertiary and Occupational Health Care practices, initiatives and Company strategy.

·         Key to this position is compliance with the Hippocratic Oath as well as compliance with the Company’s SLP, WSP and Employment Equity Plan and all other employment statutes.

·         Sound labour relations and effective communication practices with recognised unions and associations are established, maintained and entrenched.  Conducive working conditions are promoted and industrial action is limited through sound HR practices.

·         The jobholder builds a motivated and unified performance driven team and liaises with interested and affected parties. He/she is responsible for his/her own safety as well as for others according to the Mine Health and Safety Act.

Requirements
·         MBCHB
·         Diploma in Occupational Health
·         Registered with the HPCSA and SASSOM
·         Code 08 driver’s license
·         Medical Certificate of Fitness
·         English proficiency
·         Computer literacy
·         5 years’ experience in health services at managerial level

Advantageous:

·         Relevant qualification in Business Management
