Technical Manager – Mineral Processing and Analysis – GM387

My client is currently seeking a Technical Manager to take responsibility for all mineral sampling and analysis for their clients across the mining industry.

Responsibilities
• Develop and Maintain the Technical Methods and SOP’s to execute the sampling and or analysis of non-ferrous concentrates, blister and cathode copper, iron ore, ferro-alloys, fertilizers etc..
• Become the primary point of contact for clients and staff involved in the sales or execution of business for technical questions / solutions related to existing or future work
• Work with affiliate Minerals Managers to ensure they can execute the scope of work requested by our clients in a professional manner that meets all applicable international standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.)
• Establish new locations to defined standards
• Auditing of existing facilities
• Classroom and hands-on, field training of SGS operational staff
• Act as the primary contact and delegate to the relevant ISO committees and working groups active in this field

You will need:
• A minimum of five years experience within the mining industry or with a recognised international technical services company related to the sampling and or analysis of the commodity groups detailed above.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO sampling methods and ISO 17020 / 17025
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of languages other than English would be an advantage – French, Spanish, Portuguese
• Ability to carry out extensive travel within a global business
Experience working in a high pressure environment with a demanding client base

Contract details:
• There are two permanent positions available. 1 to be based in Geneva and the other to be based in either South or West Africa
