Strategy Manager – Iron Mining Operations

Forming part of the Senior Management team you be responsible for the scoping and delivery of discrete pieces of Strategic analysis around iron and steel industry.

Responsibilities
• Manage the creation of a fact base and evaluation of strategic alternatives around key strategic issues, working with multi disciplinary project teams from across the organisation
• Prepare presentations for Exco and Board, illustrating the fact base, strategic alternatives and valuation of key strategic issues for the business
• Synthesise market and competitive position, operational and financial characteristics, and stakeholder objectives into a compelling strategic plan in the context of a changing technology and industry environment
• Contribute to team debate about identifying and scoping strategic industry analysis that will provide a competitive advantage
• Collate and sense check forecasts of key financial and industry parameters to be used for strategic decision making and valuations, with support from a Business Analyst
• Staying abreast of industry, competitive, and regulatory trends that can impact the business unit, including gathering of competitive intelligence and insight from cross-functional, multi-national sources across the company and disseminating it to appropriate groups

You will need:
• Minimum of 6 year's relevant experience needed
• Applicants should be in possession of a relevant Financial/Engineering degree
• A post graduate qualification such as an MBA will be advantageous
• Prior experience in consulting, strategy management, market analysis, etc.
• Good understanding of mining and/or extractive industries
• Strong analytical, numerical and conceptual abilities
