Senior Mining Engineer - China

Requirements

Relevant Tertiary qualification is essential

Postgraduate degree is advantageous

Minimum 3-5 years experience

Open pit mining exposure is a must, preferably in a coal environment

Technically competent in methodology and processes

Proficient in mining computer software related to open pit mining

Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

Must be fluent in English

Responsibilities

Review and endorse relevant schedules;

Assist in ensuring project budgets are closely managed, monitored and accurately reported;

Assist in formulation and management of project execution strategies;

Take initiative with corrective or contingency actions to deal with threats to progress and outcome;

Coordinate engineering project activities;

Ensuring compliance with the company policies and procedures;

Undertake investigations into alternative mining methods and systems;

Creating and implementing medium to long term mine plan and designs that provide a safe working environment and effective and efficient waste movement;

Communicating concerns and improvements initiatives to supervisors and management;

Formulate and track short term plans ensuring that key objectives are met to achieve medium to long term plans;

Participate in the training, mentoring and development of employees;

Building and maintaining good working relationships with the alternative departments;

Able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders within the company.
