An international mining company that has operations in South Africa and beyond is urgently seeking a General Manager for their underground mine.
To be successful for this role the candidate has to have the following;
- 10 years’ experience within a deep level mining environment of which 5 years’ experience is on a Managerial level
- A post qualification in business studies, i.e. MBA/MBL
- BSc/BTech degree in Mining Engineering
- Experience in trackless mining will be highly advantageous
- A Mine Manager’s Certificate for Mines & Works
- Great knowledge on SA labour legislation framework
- A proven track record in safety and production performance
- South African candidates are encouraged to apply
This successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Occupational Health and Safety, Environment and Production of the mine. Hence, his business acumen will be useful when leading a team of Senior Managers on the operation for different functions and liaising with Stakeholders management and other corporate governance matters.
