Requirements
- Relevant Tertiary qualification is essential
- Postgraduate degree is advantageous
- Minimum 3-5 years experience
- Open pit mining exposure is a must, preferably in a coal environment
- Technically competent in methodology and processes
- Proficient in mining computer software related to open pit mining
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Must be fluent in English
Responsibilities
- Review and endorse relevant schedules;
- Assist in ensuring project budgets are closely managed, monitored and accurately reported;
- Assist in formulation and management of project execution strategies;
- Take initiative with corrective or contingency actions to deal with threats to progress and outcome;
- Coordinate engineering project activities;
- Ensuring compliance with the company policies and procedures;
- Undertake investigations into alternative mining methods and systems;
- Creating and implementing medium to long term mine plan and designs that provide a safe working environment and effective and efficient waste movement;
- Communicating concerns and improvements initiatives to supervisors and management;
- Formulate and track short term plans ensuring that key objectives are met to achieve medium to long term plans;
- Participate in the training, mentoring and development of employees;
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with the alternative departments;
- Able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders within the company.
