I am currently seeking a Senior Explosives Engineer to provide Surface Blasting recommendations to open pit mining clients and action all recommendations agreed to by clients.
Responsibilities
• Generate Explosive Engineering recommendations to customers
• Co-ordinate effective utilization of people and equipment resources for blasting operations
• Conduct research and development for improved blasting practices
• Competent operation of technical blasting tools
• Interpretation of blast design data for safe and efficient blasting
• Communication of blast design data to supervisor/customer/subcontractor
• Responsible for logistics of supply of explosives products for blasting
• Responsible for safe blasting process
• Conducts post blast evaluation
• Identifies and analyses opportunities for value adding services to improve customer operations
Requirements
• Grade 12, Mining degree / diploma will be an advantage
• A minimum of 5 years in an explosives and mining environment of which a minimum of two years must be in a supervisory position.
• Surface Blasting certificate is essential
• Able to obtain a Red Ticket and a PrDP
• Valid Code B Drivers Licence
