Geochemistry Head of Dept – Metallurgical Services – GM407

I am seeking a highly experienced Analytical Chemist to take full responsibility for my client’s Geochemistry Department with a focus on improving workflows and the effective utilization of resources within the department

Responsibilities
• Responsible for the day to day supervision, coordination and operation of the department.
• Responsible for planning, reviewing and monitoring of capital, revenue and expense budgeting.
• Responsible for sample routing, formulating changes, improving work flow and maximum utilization of resources in the departments.
• Coordinate Method Development and Method Validation.
• Responsible for development, effective utilization and supervision of human resources within the department, including training, recruitment and discipline.
• Assist with results evaluation.
• Determine, manage and drive initiatives in order to implement and monitor accreditation requirements as per internal and ISO17025 requirements.

Requirements
• B.Sc, BTech or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.
• At least 5 years Analytical Chemistry experience at a management level
• Client liaison experience is essential.
• Must be fully acquainted with the LIMS system (Cclas EL).
