Senior Chemist – Metallurgical Services

I am seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to ensure metallurgical samples are analysed using established analytical methods thus ensuring technical accuracy of results

Responsibilities
• Samples are analysed in accordance with established analytical procedures and processes
• Technical accuracy of results is monitored and remedial action is taken when necessary and data is recorded. (Evaluation of analytical results)
• Generate reports detailing analytical results
• Update Internal Findings, Improvement Requests and keep minutes of internal meetings
• Ensure detailed records are kept of all experimental and investigative work undertaken and the required technical reports are submitted
• Take responsible for Health & Safety within department
• Complies and conforms to the Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO17025)
• Ensure that sufficient stocks of all items for the optimal functioning of the laboratory are available at all times.

Requirements
• BSc or NDip in Chemistry
• Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in the relevant technical field
• Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Management System
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Expert in AA analysis
